Bananas grown in Mto-wa-Mbu is actually an exotic plant, said to have been introduced there by immigrants from the slopes of Kilimanjaro.

The well is hand dug approx 63 feet deep, has an electric pump and water storage tower. Has never gone dry since it was built.
